New Years Giveaway!

Happy New Year everyone!

We had a much to quiet new years last night- my parents took Emma and Michael for the weekend, so we are now down to two not-so-noisy kids. It was a little strange. The husband and I rang in the New Year in true party style- laying in bed watching a movie and doing hobbies! (Living in Las Vegas all of my life I have not once spent it on the Strip- we did watch the fireworks on the news though!) :)

Anyway, my hobby of choice last night was making a few of these super cute flower clips!

As I was making one for each of the kids, I thought, "What a great giveaway!" And then I thought, "CRAP! My last giveaway!" I had gotten so caught up in holiday ordering from my other life that I completely forgot about painting my hairbow holder for the winner of the last giveaway. I'm sure she thinks I'm a total flake now! Sorry!

So here's the giveaway- simply post about one of the following:
1. Your new years resolution. (mine are always the same, organizing, getting healthier, and having more fun with the kids.)
2. A good organizing tip for kids rooms (clothes and socks/shoes are my nemesis at the moment)
3. A suggestion on how I can improve my blog over the new year.

That's it! Post away! (Up to three entries per day if you post about each thing!) I'll send pick-o-the-reader one cute flower hairclip! *Giveaway ends on Sunday at 12:00 PST Tell your friends! Neighbors! Strangers! :)

I'm off to the antique store this afternoon for a fun day of furniture finding. I've got a mission to refinish some great piece. I'll keep you updated. :)

  1. cute, cute, cute! I want one for my daughter.

    1. RESOLUTIONS- I actually haven't written my resolutions yet. I know for sure the regulars (loose ten pounds, be more patient, pay off debt) will be on my list.
    2. ORGANIZING- This is not an original idea but I use plastic boxes as dividers in the kids dressers for socks, underwear, etc.
    3. IMPROVING THE BLOG- This is my first time visiting your blog... I think it's great.

  2. 2) I got baskets for each of the kids to keep their shoes in. They're easier for them to put away (no having to line them up neatly or anything), but they are still relatively well contained and fairly simple to find matches. Works fairly well most of the time :D

  3. I love these bows. I have the same Resolutions too. Most importantly, is to make healthier choices, eating, exercising etc.. Another one I have come up with is to cherish the relationships I have and re-establish a relationship I have lost over the years(not sure who with, a college buddy or a good friend, etc..)

  4. I have found the best way to keep a kids room organized is that less is best. The more clothes they have the bigger the mess, so I try and keep seasonal items out, i.e. summer clothes packed away. I love crates for shoes then they can just be thrown in there. Or AVON has a really cute shoe container that you can hang on a closet or slip under a bed and one pair of shoes fits in each slot. For socks, I fold over the pairs so that my dear chldren don't lose the mate.

  5. I love your blog and have used many of your styles, however I learn best from words so if I had one small suggestion and again this is only because of how I learn best I would put more directions with your pictures. Otherwise, keep the ideas coming I love them!!! Thanks for the great giveaway! WE LOVE these bows, they are darling!!!

  9. My new Year's resolutions are the basics. I'm going to lose 10-20 pounds before I try to get pregnant again (people think I'm crazy but that way it won't be a big deal if I can't los all the baby weight cz I'll be the same size I am now), be more organized, and have a more spiritually centered life.

  10. I'm not too original with my organizing, lots of baskets. In my drawers I use a cut up diaper box as dividers( I have one set of the real ones but am too cheap so I made up my own.)

  11. I also think you do a great job, I would jus like more baby do's since my 13 month old still has very little hair.

  12. I know that you just got busy. I wasn't worried about it. Anyway, New years resolution: Get healthy.

Kids rooms: I had small totes for the boys cars and small toys, but the boys broke them, so I need to figure out some other type of organization.

    Blog: I like your blog.

    Sorry posts hubby's name.

  16. My orginization tip is for small kids but hand for hubbys as well
I have plastic bins on a large Shelving unit ( from costco) I buy clear bins and lable each one and tape a picture as well. This way the kidos know where everything and so does the hubby when he is helpping pick things up. This way if we want to play blocks we get out that tube and then dont get another tub down untill the first one is put away.

  20. Organization-I don't do anything too different. I don't let my 4 yo dress herself anymore, and that keeps things looking a lot better! lol
