To cut, or not to cut...

That is the question of the day.

I'm sure many of you moms out there can relate. I am currently feeling really lost as a person. I need something to make myself feel like an individual again instead of just a mom and wife. So, I'm considering a hair cut. A BIG haircut. Like this style. (Not the pink, although I LOVE the pink- I just think it only works well on blond hair.)

If I don't cut it, I am really considering doing some colored streaks on the underlayers of my hair. Maybe blue or purple, maybe both...(Her's is a bit more drastic than what I'd do...)

So, if I may ask, what is your opinion? Cut hair short, or go with color streaks? Just as a reference, this is what my hair looks like when it's all fixed...which doesn't really happen often. It's usually pulled back into some random do.

  1. That's a hard one, I think long is easier because you can always pull it back! but short is fun to! Just be careful with color, I had pink hair streaks once and embarrassed my first grader to death!

  2. I think you look a lot like Rachael McAdams (isn't that the first picture?) so anything that looks good on her would look good on you. Plus it's not super short so if you don't like it it WILL grow out. Heck, you should cut AND color! :)

  3. Since I cry when my hair is too short, I vote coloured streaks.

  5. That first cut is nice. Short enough to be different but still long enough to pull back if there is no time to do your hair.

  6. I totally understand that urge. The first thing I do when I'm feeling like that is either cut or color my hair, sometimes I do both. I say cut it!

  7. COLOR IT! cuz if u dont like it u can always dye it back to normal where if u cut it and dont like it u either have to pay a billion katrillion dollars for extensions or wait yrs to grow it out. plus i love the idea of the diff colors!

  8. I say cut it. It may be harder to do, but I think it will look really cute!

  9. Do both! Just leave a few longer layers to the Rachel McAdams style and splash some color on those! That will help with being able to pull it back into a pony still.
My philosophy is that it is just hair, and it grows back and can be changed indefinitely. Have fun, enjoy it! Be sure to post pictures of what you go with!

  10. I say CUT and COLOR! The Rachel McAdams hair would be cut on you and it looks long enough that you could still pull it back.

  11. I'd do both, too. The cut would look awesome on your face shape, and the color under there would just be fun. You could always change the color back if it was too much. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will do you a world of good. It always does me, anyway, when I get a new do.

  12. Just go into your salon and tell him/her who cuts your hair that you are ready for a change and that you want to go a little edgy, but you don't want to embarrass your kids. Don't tell them anything else. Let them do whatever they want. If they are good, they will be happy to do it. They do this every day so they will be able to give you a cut that is good for your face shape and color that is good for your skin type.
