In order to get the ponytail so high on the head, I usually have emma tip over so her head is almost upside down. Then I brush out the bumps and tie it up.
I wait to curl it until it's in the ponytail, then curl with the flat iron. Then I pick small sections and bobby pin to make a bit more volume. You can see that I added some curls in the front, but when I add a bow or ribbons I don't add those.
Just a simple way to make a ponytail look a little extra fancy. :)
