Nothing to do with hair...

So in our family we do a gift exchange for the cousins. This was nice and easy when we had 1 or 2 kids, but now that we have 4, we end up buying 8 gifts (4 on each side of the family) This gets a little expensive, plus, with a limit of $10-$15, it's hard to find a quality gift. SO, yesterday I got a little creative for the girls we had to buy for- I've seen similar shirts around, and loved the look, so I decided to make a few. All of the materials came out to be about $8 a shirt, and they do take about an hour or two to stitch each one, but it has been worth it. (Plus, I just learned this stitch! Fun!)

What do you think? I'm planning to make a matching flower clip as well, so if anyone has a great tutorial, please share! :)

**I've had a couple of emails asking if I'd sell these, so if you're interested, email me! (rachel at kidsroomcreations dot com) I'll have them finished for Christmas if you order by Tuesday the 15th. :)

  1. Those are adorable! Here are a couple of tutorials for fabric flowers... 1 uses round pieces to make the petals, the other square :

  3. Thanks Christy and Jill! I found a cute tutorial on covering Snap clips, so I will share that in a post. Much faster than the flowers, and right now I need fast over cute. :) I'll try the flowers after the holidays though!

  4. If you want really fast, just get a covered button making kit from Walmart, and then line an alligator clip from Sally's with ribbon, and glue the button on :)

Oh, and in case you're still interested in flowers, here's the site I was looking for last night: http://blairpeter.typepad.com/weblog/2006/03/fabric_flowers.html
